US-Iran strikes resume around the Strait of Hormuz

US forces struck Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz, the first known American attack on Iran in a month, and Tehran said it retaliated against US bases. Renewed fighting threatened further disruption to a waterway that carried around a fifth of globally traded oil before the war, increasing inflation and growth risks worldwide. Brent crude rose 2.7% to settle at $90.49 a barrel and US equities fell.
