Mike has over 20 years of experience in Financial Services, Investment Management, and Insurance. He joined Amber River (TAM’s parent Company) in January 2020 to help develop the group's strategy and support the growth and acquisition plans of its acquired businesses. In October 2021, Mike became Chief Financial Officer of Amber River Shipman Wealth. In March 2025, Mike moved back to the Amber River Group team as Chief Proposition and Governance Officer.

Mike was appointed CEO of TAM Asset Management in January 2026.

Before joining Amber River, Mike worked at the national advice network Openwork, where he held various roles including Chief Financial Officer, Group Risk Director, Commercial Director, and Head of Corporate Finance. During his tenure, Openwork grew both organically and through mergers and acquisitions from 1,800 advisers to over 4,000 and separated from insurer Zurich to become an independent business. He helped launch the Omnis Investment Management business which now manages over £11bn of clients’ money and was an Investor Director of National IFA business 2plan which had c.250 advisers at that time. Additionally, Mike has also held positions at AXA Life and PwC.

Mike is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and holds the CII Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his dogs and horses along with a keen interest in all things with 4 wheels and an engine!
